Faraday Partners Congratulates Oyster HR on its Remarkable Series D Funding Round
Faraday Partners extends our warmest congratulations to Oyster HR on the successful completion of its Series D funding round, raising $59 million, led by Silver Lake Waterman. This impressive milestone, bringing Oyster’s total funding to $286 million and boosting its valuation to $1.2 billion, is a testament to the company’s innovative approach to global employment and its dedication to transforming how companies hire, pay, and manage talent across borders.
Oyster HR’s journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Since its founding in 2019, Oyster has been at the forefront of a movement to embrace remote and distributed workforces. In a market where many companies have been forced into down rounds, Oyster has defied the trend by maintaining and even slightly increasing its valuation — a significant achievement in today’s challenging market landscape.
Tony Jamous, CEO and co-founder of Oyster, has built a business focused on democratising access to global employment, reversing brain drain from developing countries, and fostering economic opportunities in emerging markets. This vision aligns closely with our own at Faraday Partners, where we have always championed innovative solutions that drive positive, global change.
A Relationship Built on Shared Values and Strategic Collaboration
Our relationship with Oyster is one we are immensely proud of. Faraday Partners has had the privilege of being involved with Oyster since its earliest days. As a second-time founder, Tony knew that building the best team in Oyster’s category was paramount. This led him to partner with Andrew Banks, Managing Partner of Faraday Partners and together, they designed a full executive talent strategy that is fit for purpose.
“We hired leaders that were scalable and mission-aligned. Today, we have the most tenured team in our category, and engagement and retention rates are highest in our category.” – Tony Jamous
This partnership has enabled us to contribute strategically to Oyster’s growth, helping to shape its leadership team and organisational culture. Some of our earliest, notable placements include Emily Zhang, who joined Oyster as their first Head of Product for two years. After serving her final year at Oyster as SVP of Product, Emily went on to co-found her current company, Landbase.
Max Lines, the former first Head of Platform for Oyster who led the creation of the operations of the Oyster Platform and was involved in fund-raising, sales, finance and overall strategy was also placed by Faraday. During his tenure at Oyster, the business grew quickly, raising $70M in Series A and B rounds with a ~$500M valuation. Max went on to drive the creation and launch of Octopus Electric Vehicles and advise various startups including Bulb, Beam and Crowdjustice before co-founding his own company, Synth Solar early this year. Synth Solar is a modern, UK-focused solar energy company, offering design, installation and monitoring for residential & commercial solar systems.
Another Faraday early hire was Miranda Zolot, who has held the position of SVP, General Counsel and Secretary at Oyster since 2020 to this day. Shannon Lincolnand Mark Frein, who were placed by Faraday as Oyster’s first Chief Financial Officer and Chief People Officer respectively in 2021, also have remained key members of their leadership organisation until today.
More recent hires who are still active in Oyster include:
- Andrea Di Natale – Senior Director of Global Operations
- Ellen Silver – President
- Amanda Greene – SVP of Customer Experience
- Luis Franco – VP of Operations – Care & Onboarding
- Lowell Coleman – VP of Business Unit Operations
- Sam Schofield – First Chief Revenue Officer
- Leah Belsky – a member of Oysters’ Board of Directors

“Faraday Partners is the best executive search firm I’ve worked with (and I worked with a few) – their approach is to really understand you, your business and your needs, and they have a vast network of executives (they know everyone that is worth knowing!). In assessing prospective candidates, their method is about truly knowing the person and their skills through their case study approach that we adopted internally at Oyster.” – Tony Jamous
Celebrating Oyster’s Continued Growth and Vision
Oyster’s success is one of the best examples of how strategic hiring can exponentially grow a business. It is also a clear indicator of the ongoing shift towards global employment and the embrace of remote and hybrid work as permanent fixtures in the modern workplace. As a B Corp-certified company, Oyster’s commitment to ethical practices and democratising job opportunities resonates strongly with our own values. Its focus on emerging markets and providing tools for seamless global compliance and local HR knowledge has distinguished Oyster as a leader in this space.
We are excited to see how this new funding will further accelerate the development of Oyster’s platform, enhance its services, and expand its reach. With new products like Global Payroll, Visa Sponsorships, local compensation insights, and a no-code offering for global hiring, Oyster continues to lead with innovation and a focus on solving the complexities of global employment.
Faraday Partners is proud to have been part of this journey and looks forward to supporting Oyster HR as it continues to pioneer a future where remote work and global employment opportunities are accessible to all.
Congratulations once again to Tony Jamous and the entire Oyster team on this remarkable achievement! We are excited to see what the future holds for Oyster HR and remain committed to supporting your growth and success.
