Avi Medical, a leading digital health startup revolutionising primary care, has appointed Thorsten Spieker as Director of Engineering. Following an extensive global search for a leader with a deep understanding of engineering culture, organisational structure, and product development, Thorsten’s extensive experience and passion for mentoring engineers and driving innovation made him the standout candidate for this pivotal role.
Thorsten Spieker brings to Avi Medical a wealth of experience from his previous roles at prominent tech companies, including Wealthfront, Betable, and Oracle. Most recently, Thorsten served as an Engineering Manager at Wealthfront Inc. for over four years, where he created and led the Account Linking Platform team and managed three cross-functional engineering teams working on the Cash product offerings.
Prior to Wealthfront, Thorsten was an Engineering Manager at Betable, where he developed a microservice-oriented platform. His efforts in organising knowledge-sharing talks across the company significantly improved team cohesion and institutional knowledge.
Thorsten’s appointment at Avi Medical comes at a time of significant growth and innovation for the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, he will be responsible for leading the engineering team, driving product development, and ensuring the technical excellence of Avi Medical’s digital health solutions.
